Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus, also known as the Hooded Fairy Wrasse, is a captivating marine fish found in the Pacific Ocean. It inhabits coral reefs at depths ranging from 60 to 217 meters (197 to 712 feet). This species boasts a distinctive color pattern, featuring hues of rose, pink, orange, and yellow, with purple-black edging on its dorsal and tail fins. The male and female exhibit similar colors, but during courtship, the male intensifies its color display. Keep in mind that the Hooded Fairy Wrasse’s coloration may vary based on its mood.

In the aquarium hobby, this peaceful and active fish adds both vibrancy and movement to a fish-only or reef tank. Remarkably, it won’t bother corals or invertebrates, making it an excellent choice for reef setups. If you decide to keep a male, consider introducing a group of females simultaneously. Just be aware that this wrasse has a tendency to jump, so a tight-fitting canopy is advisable. When introducing it to your aquarium, entice it with live brine shrimp or frozen mysis. For regular meals, offer a variety of enriched frozen brine shrimp, mysis, and other marine meats.

If you’re seeking a captivating addition to your underwater world, the Hooded Fairy Wrasse is a splendid choice!
