The Johnson’s Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus johnsoni) is a stunning marine fish that was once elusive for aquarium enthusiasts. Although abundant in its native habitat, this wrasse is exclusively found in the Marshall Islands at the Kwajalein Atoll. The adult male displays vibrant orange and yellow body coloration, complemented by lively pink hues. Its bright orange/red fins feature electric blue highlights. Females are more subdued, with less pronounced coloration and transparent fins. To keep this reef-safe beauty, provide an established marine aquarium of at least 50 gallons with ample live rock and open swimming spaces. Remember, all wrasses are known jumpers, so a covered tank is essential. Their diet should include vitamin-enriched frozen/thawed mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with quality marine flakes and pellets.
