The Neopercularis Hogfish (scientifically known as Bodianus neopercularis) is an extremely rare fish found almost exclusively in the Marshall Islands. These captivating fish inhabit deepwater reefs and caves, sharing their habitat with other elusive species like the Dr. Seuss fish. The Neopercularis Hogfish boasts a vibrant red body adorned with solid white stripes that run horizontally from its nose to the caudal fin. Their striking coloration and hardy nature make them highly valued by collectors. These fish surface in the trade only a few times a year, adding to their allure. In captivity, they adapt well, eating almost anything with gusto and holding their own in aggressive tanks. Keep in mind that they grow to around 8 inches and may consume small shrimps and crabs. Whether in a reef or fish-only tank, the Neopercularis Hogfish is a fantastic addition!
