These striking fish are native to the western central Pacific Ocean, with their range spanning from Indonesia to Timor-Leste, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.   • Appearance: The purple sand tilefish showcases a deep lilac coloration, and its tail features a distinctive dark crimson or red V-shaped mark. This unique combination of hues adds to its allure.
